Clipper Ship Lane is a residential real estate company focused on finding quality single-family properties in some of Connecticut’s most treasured communities and making them available for rent on very reasonable terms. Helping those who want to call Connecticut home find their Connecticut home is core to what we do. But that’s just the beginning! We want to help others find quality and affordable housing in the kinds of communities where we all really, really want to live. We believe that by making available some of the most affordable single-family housing in leading Connecticut communities, we can help build a more equitable, more unified, and stronger Connecticut for the long-run.
Our Process Is Simple
01 — Find Quality Properties on Reasonable Terms
Every day, our software scans hundreds of properties newly listed for sale in Connecticut that meet our strict criteria. We’re looking for quality starter homes in a very select handful of Connecticut towns that would benefit from our approach. When we shortlist a property, we work closely with a seller and their team to confirm property condition and to outline a smooth process for closing. We don’t broker properties, we buy properties with our own capital – every time!
02 — Renovate and Renew Properties Mindfully

03 — Find Great Residents & Give Them a Great Experience
At the heart of Connecticut’s strongest communities are the people who live there. We take very seriously the role we play in ensuring we’re being a good neighbor by helping place good neighbors at our properties. We carefully review every prospective resident’s background and creditworthiness. Once a resident passes this review and signs a lease, we do everything we can together with our trusted partner – Robert C. White & Company – to help them enjoy their new place! Emergency maintenance calls are answered 24/7, routine maintenance requests are addressed in just days, we offer help and forgiveness for the unexpected, and tenants can share feedback or other asks at any time through a quick e-mail or phone call to their property’s representative. We want our residents to enjoy the places we make available for them – which is why most of our residents have been with us for at least three years!
